General Rules of the Society

Membership fees in 2009/2010 are as follows:

• Full membership:             €10 per year

The annual membership will run from 1^st April until 31^st March.  Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Membership Secretary.

To ensure the Society discount, tee times must be booked in advance, membership of the Society stated and the discount requested.  The Membership Card must be shown when paying the green fee.
 

A handicap certificate can be issued for those members who do not have an official handicap. This certificate will be for the purpose of Society events only and will not be valid outside the Society.
 

Members will be expected to:

• abide by the Rules and Etiquette of golf
• dress and behave appropriately at all times, both on the golf course and in the club house
• abide by all dress codes and local rules.

Anyone abusing these rules or embarrassing the Society will be asked to return the membership card.

Mission and Objectives

The San José Golf Society was formed in 2004 with the following mission and objectives:

1. To maximise the quality and quantity of golf available to our members.
    
2. To promote the sport of golf within San José and the surrounding region.
    
3. To provide a forum for golfers to meet and discuss their sport.
    
4. To provide a focal point for golfers living in San José and the local region as well as for regular or temporary golfing visitors.
    
5. To provide a framework within which members, families and guests can enjoy the social life associated with the sport of golf and the membership of a golf society.
    
6. To liaise with local golf courses in order to maintain currency with their facilities and to negotiate the best terms and conditions for our members.
    
7. To liaise with other golf societies, both local and overseas to maximise any potential synergies between our organisations.
    
8.  To liaise with the golf authorities of Spain in order to be suitable representatives of the sport within the region and the country.
    
9. To be responsible and valuable members of the community in which we live.
